ComfyUI · Guide

Install it, use it, see what changed.

A short user guide, every release and what is in it, and where to download each part.

User guide

From zero to a running workflow.

  1. Pick what to installThe original Solar Violet Nodes, the seven separate packs, or the one-install Violet nodes pack. Use the separate packs or the bulk pack, never both. Compare them.
  2. Run the installer, or copy by handThe installer for Windows, macOS and Linux finds ComfyUI, asks once, copies the pack and the workflows and installs the Python packages. By hand, copy the folder into ComfyUI/custom_nodes and install its requirements.txt.
  3. Restart ComfyUIA Violet tab appears in the sidebar with status, nodes, workflows, images, LoRAs and models, memory and replace.
  4. Open a workflowWith the hub installed, a workflow is scanned the moment it opens: missing nodes and models, the links and notes the author left, what is pinned, what is not in English.
  5. Fix what is missingA missing model is searched by name on CivitAI and Hugging Face and downloads into the right folder. A missing node pack installs from its repository on your click, with its requirements on a second click.
  6. Load LoRAsThe Violet LoRA Loader stacks up to 30, with preview strips, per-LoRA strength and trigger words that feed the text encoder.
  7. Keep it leanMemory gauges sit in the top bar, with clear buttons and a Clear RAM node. The duplicate finder in the model browser never lets you remove every copy of a file.

LoRAs and model weights are never part of a release. Each workflow's note lists the files it needs and the folder each goes in.

Changelog

What changed, newest first.

Violet nodes

Built; not yet released. The original Solar Violet Nodes 1.0.0 is public (see its own section).

Swap dev

  • Reads older Violet packs without loading them, converts old nodes when a workflow opens, and wires empty inputs on its own (after a swap, on request, or on open).
  • A legacy map builder lists which old node became which Violet node.

109 nodes in one pack 1.4.0

  • The 66 nodes of 1.3.0 plus the 43 restored from the first pack, added only where no newer node has the id.
  • Violet Load Image crops on import (automatic borders or a drawn box), resizes, and has a Crop & resize window.
  • The VioletComfy OS hub ships inside the pack.

Seven packs, rebuilt as one set 1.3.0

  • Core, Krea edit and control, Klein, upscalers, API, tensors and Prompter, each installable on its own.
  • Violet Tensors: loaders and info for the Violet file types and Violet file names.
  • Old node names keep loading and run the Violet node they point to.

VioletComfy OS

The hub is built and tested inside ComfyUI. The desktop app is in development. Nothing here is released yet.

Desktop app and startup switches dev

  • VioletComfy OS desktop app (0.1.0): an Electron shell and engine launcher, with screens for instances, install, workflows, CivitAI, models, pictures, crop and settings. One app per module.
  • Every ComfyUI startup option is a switch, read from each install's own cli_args.
  • A dependency check with a safe repair, and the ComfyUI Desktop 2 layout.

Hub in ComfyUI 1.0.0

  • Scan on import, model search and download, node pack install, translate, canvas clean-up.
  • CivitAI workflow browser with compare against the Violet library, and a 388-workflow library grouped by model and by job.
  • ComfyUI instances: scan other installs read-only, discover Desktop, portable and Stability Matrix installs, install a new ComfyUI with its own environment.
  • One shared Images folder. Files are moved, never overwritten or deleted.
